Diesel Train journey from Ayr to Prestwick, July 1961, 8mm colour film

Starting at Ayr and passing through Newton-on-Ayr and Prestwick stations. The Class 126 Diesel Multiple Units were introduced on the Glasgow-Ayr line in 1959, replacing steam locomotives. Due to much procrastination they remained in service until 1986 when the Ayr line was finally electrified.
