Loch Carron from above Strome Ferry
A view looking west along the sea loch of Loch Carron, its deepest point is around 100m. In 2018 it was designated as a marine protection area due to its colony of flame shells around the Strome Castle area, said to be the largest such colony in the world. Marine Protection status means any sort of fishing that would damage the seabed is forbidden. Map location.
