Hawker Siddeley Harrier, Fairford, 1993
An RAF Harrier hovers during an air diisplay at Fairford.  The Harrier first entered service in 1969 as a ground attack and reconnaissance aircraft with vertical/short takeoff capabaility. It was the only aircraft of that era with that capability.  It was later developed in to the Sea Harrier for use with the Royal Navy's Invincible Class light Carriers.
