Garrison Buildings, Fort George
Fort George is one of the best preserved examples of an 18th century Garrison fort. Built after the Jacobite rebellions to house Government troops. Apart from the living quarters you see here there was also shelter built in to the grass covered fort walls to give protection to the entire Garrison in the event of an artillery attack.
