Unlike the other Bronze Age cairns at Clava this one was never enclosed. It may have been used as a tomb or maybe marked the position of a pyre to acompany ceremonies associated with the passage graves. The surounding stone circle was added later with the highest stones on the side of the midwinter sun. Map location.
