Carn Liath Broch, Sutherland
Just north of Golspie on the coast road lies the ruins of Carn Liath Broch. These stone round houses date from between around 2,300 to 1,900 years ago. Double-skinned drystone walls support each other and make possible a high building. Carn Liath is one of the few excavated Brochs that has found to have surviving outbuildings.
