Pacific Orca is a purpose built heavy lift jack-up vessel built for use in the offshore wind farm market. It can carry and install up to 12 Wind Turbines. At the time it was launched in 2012 she was the largest such vessel in the world. This view is taken from across the water at Cromarty. The Nigg Construction yard was originally built to manufacture the huge steel jackets used in the North Sea for oil production. Today it is being used for constructing parts for offshore Windfarms.
