Fyrish Monument panorama, Cromarty Firth
The Fyrish Monument was built in 1782 on Fyrish hill above Alness. It was built to keep the locals occupied after the Clearances. The views from the Monument out across the Cromarty Firth are impressive even on a cloudy day like this. Map location.
