Inverewe Gardens, near Poolewe
The summer borders at Inverewe. If this looks a bit like a private front garden thats because it originally was. The garden was started by Osgood Mackenzie, born in 1842. The house was built in 1935 and replaced an earlier one destroyed by fire. When Osgood's daughter died in 1953 she arranged for the National Trust for Scotland to care for the garden in perpetuity.
