The Lockerbie Garden of Remembrance, Dryfesdale Cemetery
Despite more recent events, the Lockerbie disaster remains the worst terrorist atrocity carried out in the UK. On the evening of 21st December 1988 PanAm flight 103 exploded over the town of Lockerbie killing all 259 passengers and crew and 11 residents of the town below. The ensuing Police investigation was the largest in Scottish Criminal history. Map location.
