The Devorgilla Bridge, Dumfries
Named after lady Devorgilla of Galloway this bridge dates from the early 15th century. When built it had 9 arches but the reclamation of land on the east side resulted in the removal of three. The western most arch is Gothic in style and is one of only 8 such arched bridges in Scotland. A toll house once stood on the central piller but was removed to save weight.
