Possibly the only Ukranian Chapel in Scotland, it was built by the prisoners of war who stayed at Hallmuir POW camp between 1947 and 1950. The Chapel still presents an authentic Ukranian feel, even down to the tinsel chandelier. It is still in use by the local Ukranian community who were unable to return home due to the Stalanist regime. They stayed in Lockerbie and Lochmaben, married local girls and brought up their children to respect their traditions.
