Splendid desolation, John Brown's shipyard, 2004
This massive Titan Crane is all that remains of John Brown's shipyard at Clydebank.  At its peak the yard employed thousands and was the birthplace of the first three "Queens" of the Cunard line.  The site is currently being redeveloped at a cost of ?350m with a mix of housing, retail, business and leisure facilities.
