Chatelherault Hunting Lodge, South Lanarkshire
You get some idea of the commanding view seen from Chatelherault in this photo, in the distance the tower blocks of Motherwell can be seen. Although there is some optical distortion in the photo due to it being about 3 joined together, the apparent tilt in the two end blocks is real and has been caused by subsidence due to old mine workings. This view also shows that although it was designed to look very grand from the front the buildings have very little depth.
