The Ruins of Dunollie Castle, Oban
This 12th century castle lies on the site of a much earlier Bronze Age Fort from a time when 4 kings ruled the Kingdom of Dalriada from Dunollie. It became the seat of Clan Macdougall in the 12th century and has been associated the Macdougalls since then. There are plans to open a MacDougall museum in the nearby Dunollie House.
