St Martins Cross, Iona
Carved from a single slab of stone between AD 750 nd 800. The side visible is carved with bosses and serpants, the opposite side depicts scenes from the Bible. The stone stands close to Iona Abbey where Christianity was introduced into Scotland by Columba from Ireland.
