Stones 5 and 7 at Stenness. Hard to believe today but in 1814 a tennent farmer attempted to destroy the circle, he toppled stone 5 and smashed another stone before being stopped. When the monument was taken into state care in 1906 stone 5 was re-erected by 8 men using a timber frame.
