Shillford, East Renfewshire
Shillford's main claim to fame today is that it is home to Crawfords bus garage. Shillford is on the main turnpike road from Glasgow to Kilmarnock which was built around 1820. The name Shillford allegedly comes from a 'shallow ford' which existed there before the turnpike was built.
