HMS St Alban's fitting out at BAe Sysem, Scotstoun
Glasgow has had a long associataion with ship building although today it is a shadow of its former self. This was Yarrows Shipbuilders on the upper Clyde, now owned by BAE Systems. HMS St Albans was the last of 16 'Duke' class frigates built for the Royal Navy. This picture was taken in 2001, not long before the ship was accepted by the Royal Navy. The Scotstoun yard is the lead yard in the new type 45 Destroyer program.
