This cantilever constructed Railway Bridge over the mouth of Loch Etive was completed in 1903. It spans 152m over the Loch at the Falls of Lora. In 1914 it was converted to take both vehicular traffic and trains (but not at the same time!) After the closure of the railway line in 1966 it was again converted for vehicle only traffic in one direction at a time with traffic lights at either end. At the time this picture was taken in 2002 it was undergoing a major refurbishment.
