House 9 (left) in the Neolithic settlement at Skara Brae does not appear to be part of the main complex. Although it has a central hearth and two beds House 9 is also smaller than many of the houses and may be part of an earlier phase of occupation. The internal features of House 10 (right) are very damaged and while it is of a good size it may be part of an earlier phase of occupation
