The Chapter House, Dryburgh Abbey
This is the only part of Dryburgh Abbey that remains intact. Its not difficult to imagine the canons seated on the stone benches for daily meetings. Although the Canons took a strict vow of silence, they could speak in here as long as they were concise and addressed the whole room. No casual conversation was allowed.
