Port Dundas was developed around 1790 and was named after Sir Lawrence Dundas, a backer of the Forth & Clyde Canal Company. The area declined in the 1960's until the last straw was the construction of the M8 Motorway obstructing access to the canal basin. Since then though a great deal of money has been investing in restoring the canal and converting these old warehouses into flats. Map location.
