The sunken Garden, Bellahouston Park, Glasgow
This is what is left of the original Dumbreck house. In 1850 the owner, Moses Stephen, changed the name to Bellahouston House and on his death in 1871 his sisters Elizabeth and Grace, observing his wish that "his fortune which had come from Glasgow should go to Glasgow" established the Bellahouston Bequest Fund who sold the estate to the City of Glasgow in 1895 to become parkland for the benefit of its citizens.
