The Empire Exhibition, Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, 1938
Glasgow was known as the second city in the Empire and this important status was reflected in 1938 when the Empire exhibition was held in Bellahouston Park. All the structures, including the huge tower, were only built for the duration of the exhibition. Most were demolished, some were moved elsewhere, only one building, The Palace of Art, remains in the park today. This photo was taken by my Mother, the boy being my Uncle :-)
