Rockwell B-1B Lancer, Fairford, 1993
Conceived during the cold war as a strategic bomber it was then cancelled and restarted again. Fewer were built than origonally planned as it was argued cruise missiles could do the same job but much more cheaply. 100 were built and around 60 remain in service today.
