Inside the dry dock, Hunterston Construction yard
Its difficult to get an idea of the scale of this hole in the ground from a photo.  Where I am standing is about 12m below sea level.  The top part of the bank that is sand is  removed to allow structures to float in or out of the dock.  Its more than 10 years since anything has been built here and its future use is uncertain other than as a test area for offshore wind turbines.
