St Andrews Church, Gretna
This unusual Italian style building was laid down in 1917 and opened in March 1918. It cost 6000 pounds to construct with 4000 pounds coming from the Ministry of Munitions as a grant and the remainder from local churches. The Church of Scotland and the Free Church co-operated in the planning and construction of the church which was built to accommodate the vast influx of workers for the nearby Munitions factory.
