Being the most northerly point on the UK mainland Dunnet Head was an important strategic location during WWII. It was one of the locations where the Navy set up a Radar station to detect U Boats passing into the Atlantic. In the this picture green blocks are the Cold War ROC post and the grey building are what is left of the Radar station.
