Region charts in Control Room of Troywood Bunker, Anstruther
These charts show how the UK was divided into civil defence regions, each with their own command post similar to this one. The Troywood bunker was one of the biggest in Scotland and had dormatories and canteen for all those in it. It had its own generator, telephone exchange and air filtration system and was in theory able to withstand a near miss from a 20kt nuclear weapon. It has been open to the public since 1994 and is well worth a visit.
