RFA Mounts Bay, BAE Systems, Glasgow
Mounts Bay is one of 4 Bay class Auxiliary Landing Ship Dock LSD(A) that the Royal Navy had built to replace the old 'Sir' class best known for their efforts in the Falklands war.  She displaces some 16,000t and can carry over 350 troops and up to 1200 linear metres of vehicles which equates to 32 main battle tanks or 150 light trucks.  She was launched from Govan ship yard in April 2004 and this photo was taken in November 2005 at BAE systems yard at Scotstoun, further down the Clyde.
