Built in the early 1890's in memory of Thomas Coats. The Coats family of Paisley were the owners of J & P Coats Cotton Mills which was the backbone of industry in Paisley from 1828 well into the 20th century. This impressive piece of Gothic style architecture is just one of the legacies that the Coats family left to the people of Paisley.
