This footbridge stood for nearly 100 years as a way of getting across the river Lossie to the east beach. This beach and its dunes are without doubt one of Lossiemouth's best assets. In 2019 the bridge was deemed unsafe and was closed. It took until May 2022 for a new replacement to be built and opened giving safe access again to the beach.
