Crathie Kirk is famous for being the place the Royal Family worship when they are in residence at nearby Balmoral Castle.  Th present church dates from 1893, Queen Victoria. laid the foundation stone.  Victoria's decision to worship at the Church initially caused a bit of a scandal since this is a Church of Scotland church and the monarch is the head of the Anglican Church of England.
