Spot the difference, Portsoy
Its not the cars. The photo on the right was taken a week later than that on the left during the summer of 2015 when Portsoy harbour area was used for the making of the 2016 version of the film, Whisky Galore. To give a more authentic 1940's look the white toilet block was clad in wood, along with a wall and the hotel was changed outwardly to a chandler. The film starred Gregor Fisher who in his younger life lived in Neilston.
