The lost village of Coulport
The MoD owns vast areas of land in the UK. This old mile marker points to the village of coulport, however, within a few hundred metres of this point is a security gate with armed gaurds at the entrance to RNAD Coulport. The village is gone and a large area of land around is now one of the most sensitive security areas in the UK with bunkers for storage of the RN's Trident D5 Missiles. Map location.
