Caldwell House, front view
Caldwell House dates from 1773 when Baron Mure of Caldwell commissioned Robert Adam to design a house for him. The Mure family stayed here until 1909 when they moved back to Caldwell Hall. Baron Mure was a rector of Glasgow University and also the Exchequer in Scotland.
