When the old Kylestrome to Kylesku ferry was replaced in 1967 it was laid up on the shore not far from Kylesku and that is where it seems to have remained. As you can see from its size it probably could only take about 4 cars. The crossing remaining a bottleneck in the Journey up the west coast until the Kylesku bridge was opened in 1984. Map location.
