Altnaharra
If you're looking for somewhere to get away from it all then this is the place to be, its a small collection of houses and a Hotel pretty much in the middle of nowhere. That alone makes it worth a visit. The name Altnaharra is derived from the Gaelic Allt na h-Eirbhe, meaning Stream at the boundary wall, named after a stream that flows through the hamlet.
