The Bridge at Bonar Bridge
The first Bridge was built here in 1812, before that the village was just known as Bonar. The present day bridge dates from 1973. Although very impressive, the traffic crossing is quite sparse since the new crossing of the Dornoch Firth was opened in the 1980's. This has left Bonar Bridge on a 20 mile detour from the main A9, but still worth a visit. Map location.
