Loch Quoich Dam
Built for the North of Scotland Hydro Electric Board in 1955 this Dam forms part of the great Glen Hydro Scheme. At the time it was built it was the largest of its type at 125ft high and 1050ft long. It is earth fill, re-enforced by concrete with a natural stone facing. Through the trees you can just make out a building, this is the compensation turbine hall that generates a small amount of electricity from the water passed through the dam to allow the flow of the river Garry.
