HMS Shoreham, M112, at Kyle of Lochalsh
HMS Shoreham tying up for the night at the pier at Kyle of Lochalsh.  She entered service with the Royal Navy in Nov 2001, the last of 11 Sandown class Mine Hunters, equiped with the latest techniques to detect and dispose of mines.  This photo was taken in Sept. 2002 when the ship was still undergoing trials. The waters around Skye have long been used by the Royal Navy surface and Submarine fleet for training.
