The Railway Station at Kyle of Lochalsh
In 1870 the Dingwall & Skye Railway company built a railway from Inverness to Stromeferry, but it took another 27 years and some competition from a rival company before the line was finally extended to Kyle of Lochalsh in 1897. Today the journey from Inverness to Kyle is arguably the most spectacular Railway journey you can take in the UK.
