Ruins of Duntulm Castle, Isle of Skye
Perched on top of a cliff this crumbling ruin has had a long history. First used as a Pictish fort, then by the Vikings and then by Clans Macleod and Donald. The ruins visible today date from around the 16th century, the Castle was abandonded around 1730. Duntulm is almost at the most northerly point of Skye, in the distance the mountains of the Outer Hebrides can be seen.
