Bringing people and wheel barrows across the Clyde from Yoker to Renfrew. Sadly, there are currently plans by the coucil to end the subsidy which keeps this ferry running, so at the end of March 2009 the Renfrew Rose and Yoker Swan may be consigned to the history books unless some other funding can be found. There has been a ferry here for almost 600 years but all is not lost yet, talks are under way with private operators. The council will save £400,000 a year by closing the ferry.
