Solar flare mosaic, Crawick Multiversion
Within the Sun Amphitheatre at Crawick is this mosaic depiction of how the Earth is protected from Solar flares by its Magnet Field. The sun is the furthest circle and the earth is the small circle of stones. The interaction of Solar flares with Earths Magnetic field can be seen in the Aurora in the northern skies, sometimes visible as far south as north parts of the British Isles in areas with dark skies.
