The Canal links black Loch and White Loch in the landscape Gardens of Castle Kennedy. Sadly the spectacular rows of Palm trees down each side were severely damaged by frost the winter after this photograph was taken. The good news is that they were cut down to ground level and in spring 2012 new growth is showing but it could be 20 years before it looks this good again. Map location.
