Ardgowan Tower, Inverkip
Located within the grounds of Adrgowan Estate near Inverkip.  A castle has stood here since the 13th century.  It was captured by the English in 1307 but was later re-taken by Robert Boyd acting on behalf of Robert the Bruce.  The land was given to the son of King Robert III in 1403.
