Opened in 1903 it was originally part of the Caledonian line from Glasgow to Ardrossan. Neilston is now the end of the line and new housing has been built on the former path of the railway. In the early 1960's the line was electrified for the 'blue trains'. The old goods shed can be seen still standing in the background.
