Tornado is a purpose built torpedo retriever operated by the Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service. She was built in 1979  by Hall Russell in Aberdeen and dsiplaces some 560 tons.  She is based on the Clyde but will often be seen up the west coast since this is where the Royal Navy trains its submarine crews.
